2009 Porsche Panamera Concept Car
December 10th, 2006Porsche has announced that from 2009 a fourth series, the four-door, four-seater, sports coupé Panamera, will be built at the Leipzig plant. Like the Carrera, the Panamera has got it’s name from the Carrera Panamericana race. Porsche hasn’t yet published any official pictures of the new Panamera concept but we can get a general idea from a drawing made public at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
The Panamera from Porsche is to be officially introduced at the 2009 Geneva show and it seems that Porsche has begun it’s testings on this cool concept car.
Rumors are that the new Porsche Panamera will be powered by a 3.5-liter V6 as its base engine, producing up to 300 horsepower, and other options could be a Porsche-built V8 (bringing about 350 horsepower) and a twin-turbo (providing 560 horsepower). So maybe this future model of a fast and cool car from Porsche is about to become the first V8-engined sports car built by Porsche since 1995. Rumors also say that Porsche will choose for transmission a six-speed manual and an optional six-speed automatic.
It appeares that the purpose is to build a genuine sports car, but which will be fitted for family purposes also, with easy access on the back and with generous luggage compartment.
The new concept from Dodge was presented in a striking Inferno Red and looks very cool; the car keeps the signature Dodge crosshair grille and has modern quad headlamps surrounded by black housings.
The Avenger from Dodge will be a very cool car and has a lowered ride height and a wide stance which make it firmly planted on the road.
But this new concept should be also a fast car, being powered by a 2.0 liter turbo diesel engine, but it seems that other options will be available (perhaps a V6 engine developing up to 189 or 235 horsepower).
The new Toyota Tundra 2007 was designed to meet most off-road driving requirements and it will be capable of towing an amazing 10,000 lbs. Power for this new big and fast car is provided by an all-new 5.7-liter i-Force V8 engine manufactured at Toyota’s Alabama engine plant coupled to a new heavy-duty six-speed automatic transmission.
New features that make the new Tundra a very cool offroad car are a wide-screen backup camera integrated into the tailgate handle, an optional JBL audio system and Bluetooth phone compatibility.
The new Cadillac DTS-L is 215.6 inches in length, bringing a plus of 8 inches of cabin space with extra foot and leg room and VIP-caliber rear-seat accommodations. The back-seat passengers are concealed behind the C-pillar, rearward of the side windows.
This awards show what a cool car is the Toyota Camry. It’s features go from AB-i (Active Braking with Intelligence) which incorporates Anti-skid Braking System (ABS) Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA) as standard, to rain-sensing windscreen wipers, new pedestrian-safety design features, bluetooth technology, satellite navigation, power rear sunshade.

As a major difference from the previous models, the new Lancer Evolution has a lower centre of gravity obtained by reducing weight in the roof and upper parts of the body.
But the new Concept X from Mitsubishi isn’t all about looks, it’s also a fast car, powered by a 2-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged engine. The turbocharged aluminum cylinder block MIVEC engine is combined with a high-performance 6-speed auto-manual transmission. Also, the Lancer Evolution X Concept has Mitsubishi’s latest 4WD-based Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC).
The new 2007 Lincoln MKZ is more powerful and more efficient and it’s 3.5-liter V-6 engine with 250 horsepower paired with a smooth-shifting 6-speed transmission makes it a faster car than the predescessor.
The new Lincoln MKZ from Ford has performance oriented driving character and is more engaging, plus it features added confidence of available intelligent all-wheel drive. This optional intelligent all-wheel-drive system can split power not only from front to rear but also side to side.
Other features of the Lincoln MKZ are four-wheel disc brakes with a four-sensor, three-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake force distribution (EBD). By measuring brake force and directing braking to the wheels that have the best grip, EBD helps achieve shorter stopping distances even before ABS activates. Traction assist also is standard.
The feature that makes the Eclipse Spyder a cool car amongst convertibles is that the automatic top folds completely out of sight under a flush-fitting powered tonneau cover in about 19 seconds. Also it isn’t made out of vinyl like other cool cars in it’s price range, but out of cloth.
The Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder designed for 2007 comes in two versions: the GS and the GT. GS model features a 2.4 liter engine with about 162 horsepower and as a standard a 5-speed manual transmission (there is also an optional 4-speed automatic transmission). But the GT model is the one that makes the Eclipse Spyder 2007 a very fast car. The standard engine is a 3.8-liter, V6, 260 horsepower engine with a 6-speed manual transmission as a standard, and an optional 5-speed automatic transmission. If that isn’t enough keep in mind that the Mitsubishi 2007 Spyder GT can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in about 7 seconds.
Another cool feature for both models of this fast cool car is that they come equipped as standard with a 650-watt Rockford Fosgate premium audio system. The system features a six-disc and in-dash CD changer that can play MP3 CDs and it has been specifically engineered for the Eclipse Spyder GT, providing unique automatic sound equalization for top-up or top-down driving.
The team is named 12B and is composed of Ivan Ivanov, Branimir Dobrev and Ivan “Sqwall” Stoyneshky. The project is composed of two sportcar concepts, named Raven and Wildcat. This could become cool cars, but they are just in the modelling stage and the team is looking for sponsors, investors or potential buyers. The bulgarians hope to have a real size model in March 2007 for tests, but their main objective is to have a working prototype ready to be presented at shows till the end of 2008.
The Wildcat could compete against Ferrari F430 and Lamborghini Gallardo, two very cool cars, so the team’s mission is a hard one. THhe Wildcat concept is a four-wheel-drive sportscar, with a carbon-fibre semi-monocoque shell, making it weight only around 1,180 Kg. This, combined with a V8 engine that could bring up to 480 horsepower might make out of the Wildcat a really fast car, as the team hopes that it will reach 100 km/h in under 5 seconds.
The new and So much expected V8 is an incredible cool car, consisting of an imaginative combination of different leathers, contemporary fabrics and aluminium. As Aston Martin themselves state in their press release, the V8 represents a single fluid form with characteristic attention to detail, both inside and out, representing the open sports car in its purest form.
But the Aston Martin V8 is more than just a cool car, because the all-alloy quad overhead camshaft 32 valve, 4.3 litre V8 engine makes it also a very fast car. The engine also features variable inlet camshaft timing, dry sump lubrication system, fully catalysed stainless steel exhaust system with active bypass valves. The engine is front mid-mounted and the convertable has rear-wheel drive. The rear mid-mounted six-speed manual with optional Sportshift automated manual transmission gives the driver high precision when driving this fast cool car.
