It seems that at the Detroit Auto Show that will be held on January, General Motors is about to unveil a new Hummer concept - the H4.

It is likely for the new Hummer H4 to be smaller than the three previous Hummers, but that doesn’t mean that it will not be a cool car, like it’s predescessors. Gossip is that the new Hummer model could be a two-seater off-road, but there is no certainty, since General Motors hasn’t yet decided on which platform to use for the new model. A smaller version of the H3 platform is one of the possibilities and the Theta platform is another one.

Also, the new concept is already known as the Beach Blanket Hummer, another name used for the H4, though there isn’t a lot of information on the car itself. There’s rumor that this future cool car could feature removable top and doors.

The vehicle would be a smaller truck that would compete with the Jeep Wrangler. A production version likely would be built for the 2010 model year.Read more about the Hummer H4 concept

Other sources say that the fourth Hummer could be on sale by 2008 or 2009.
